MS Word Bug with Style Headings

C

Clueless

I'm about to go nuts. I'm trying to use the Header styles in MS Word 2003
and every time I create a list of topic headings and heading 3 reaches the
seventh item in that list, Word adds extra space between the item number and
the title (which uses heading 3). No matter what I do, I can't get Word to
behave properly. Things return to normal after the 9th item in the list.

I would attach a screen capture but I'm unable to on this forum.

BTW, I'm not creating a list with headings; I'm trying to create headings
for sections in a chapter of a book. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You may want to also post this in the Word document management group using the link below and include there the version of Windows,
if Office 2003 is up to date through Service Pack 3, the printer brand and model you're using and the steps you're using that
produce this result. :)

I'll repost this on the other board. FYI, I'm using Office 2003 with Service
Pack 3 on a Windows XP Media Center machine. I haven't tried printing yet
because the error shows up on the screen.
