MS word drawing toolbar problem

When accessing the Fill Color on the drawing toolbar, no colors are showing
up - only blank boxes. This is happening with Word 2003

Do you have an AutoShape selected when you click on the button? Note that
Fill Color is used only for AutoShapes (including text boxes). For tables
and text, you need Shading Color (a button with the same icon on the Tables
and Borders toolbar, or use Format | Borders and Shading).
