MS Word "File ... is not available" Error after downloading OfficeXP updates

I downloaded MS Office XP updates (SP1, SP2, etc.) today
and now I can't open any of the MS Word documents on my
computer. I found in the MS KnowledgeBase a reference to
the error that tells me to update Norton Antivirus, but
running LiveUpdate tells me no updates are available.
How do I get my documents opened? Help!

Hi Mike,

IIRC the article also suggested you disable the Office Plug-in option
found in Norton. If it didn't then it should have. :)

In Norton go to Options and in the Miscellaneous section turn off
"Enable Office Plug-in".
