MS Word not recovering file after reboot

D

Denise

MS Word is not doing a proper recovery of file when
unintentional reboots are occurring while working on a
document in the program. MSW used to automatically
recover the file that was interrupted during the reboot,
but now it is not doing it anymore. The reboots are
occurring on a regular basis now and disrupts my work day
(I'm a medical transcriptionist). After the reboot
occurs and logging back into the desktop, the file is not
automatically retrieved through the recovery format. When
manually pulling up the file, a good amount of data is
lost and has to be re-typed (auto recovery is already set
to save file every 1 minute).

Any help you can provide me with my issue would be of a
great help to me.

Thanks!

We need a little more information. What version of Word are you using
and which patches do you have installed? (Take a look under
Help/About).

Also, why is your computer rebooting??? AutoRecovery saves aren't
intended to be used as a regular Word operation. You should still be
saving your files periodically. If you aren't because it's a matter of
moving your hands off the keyboard then whenever you think of it use
Ctrl + s to quickly save the file.
