MS Word opens without the document.

When I double-click a Word document, MS Word opens without the document. How
do I make the document show in MS Word when it is double-clicked.

PS. If I drag the document to the application, it works in a normal manner.

I tried the suggested solution but it did not fix the problem. I was thinking
perhaps to delete the .DOC file type in the registry. What do you think?
