My client has a MS Word form that needs to be run using Office 2000, 2002,
2003 and beyond.
The form is used for job appraisals and consists of multiple job
descriptions written directly onto the form and numeric fields used to
calculate the employee's performance that need to be entered by the
department head.
The users are fairly unsophisticated when it comes to computers and this
could lead to trouble.
Why the original designers allowed the users to type directly onto the form
is beyond me. Now, the users need to first unprotect the form, type in the
job descriptions and then protect the form to allow entries into the fields.
You can see the problem of having the forms unprotected. For example, if the
users forget to reprotect the form, the fields get all screwed up. If they
don't unprotect the form, they cannot enter job descriptions.
I was thinking of creating fields for the job descriptions but there is no
easy way I can think of to transfer the descriptions from the current forms
to ones with job description fields. There are approximately 500 forms that
would need to get converted.
Is there anything you can think of that I could use to correct his oversite?
