MS Word will not load

To all,

We are running Win98 and even after a reload of MSOffice
word will not load. It gives us the splash and then
hangs the computer.

All other Office products (Excell, PowerPoint, Access,
Outlook) all load fine.

Any clues?

I did a full uninstall of office and then a reinstall and
Word will not fire up. I even went into Outlook and set
Word as my email editor and again it will not fire up.

Thanks for any help you folks may be able to provide.

Good luck on deciphering the reference. I have tried for many hours over a few days and still can't get Word 2000 to open unless I use the winword.exe /a option.

Have you tried renaming Normal.dot? Deleting the Registry Data key? Moving
add-ins out of Word's Startup folder? If Word runs correctly with the /a
switch, then this implicates one of these issues.
