MS Word2000 grouping footers

[Footers change per page grouping]

Two part question:
(1) How do I group pages numbers. Example: If 18 pages, but I want the
first three pages numbered 1 to 3, the next two pages numbered 1 to 2, the
next four pages pg 1 to 4 and so on.

(2) How can I place a text footer "anything I want" next to the page
numbers, but allowed to change the text footer with each change in the page
numbering group?

Hi, Al. Insert next-page section breaks between each page grouping
(section), turn off "same as previous" in the headers and footers of each
section, insert and format page numbers as desired in each section, and type
whatever you want next to the page numbers in each section. See
