You waited a whole three minutes before reposting - wow, you're a patient
person! I have no idea what you mean by "MS Works files from Office 2000" as
they are two mutually exclusive suites. I believe that Word will open Works
WP files, and that Excel will open Works spreadsheet files (if they can be
saved as CSV) and ditto Works database. But, I'm guessing as I've not used
Works for about 10 years plus.

It may depend on version of Works.
O2K will open Works v4 files
Works and O2K are different applications, OXP is an update to O2K
