MSAccess F11 stopped working

My F11 key stopped working in MSAccess yesterday. This is true for
every database on my PC. I have been developing MS Access databases
for years and have never had this problem. It is not just in one mdb -
but all of them. I am using Access 2000.

I can still use Ctrl-G to get to the debug window and then type
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdWindowUnhide and that will show me the database
window. And Alt-F1 still works. Its just F11 that has stopped working,
although I do see a quick blip of the hourglass, so I know it is
responding to the key.

Does anyone have any ides about this? It is so strange.

Thanks in advance,
Christine

Have you by any chance got an AutoKeys macro defined that remaps the key?

Funny thing is now my Ctrl-F11 Key is not working either ... I don't
know if it stopped at the same time as the regular F11 or has stopped
working since then. This is scary - what will stop working next?????

Assuming it is not a laptop:

1) Have you tried a different keyboard?
2) What happens if you use your current keyboard on another computer?

Bruce - thanks so much for responding.

It WAS my keyboard causing the problem.

Apparently there is an F Lock key on my keyboard which I have never
noticed before. There is also a little green light on the keyboard
that toggles when you press this F lock key.

I guess I turned off the little green light, and therefore my F11
usage when I dusted my keyboard the other day. As I said I had never
even noticed this F-Lock key before.

My embarrassment is overshadowed only by my gratefulness that my
problem is now gone!

So now I can get back to working on my Access Databases in my usual
fashion.

A VERY BIG Thanks to you Bruce.

Glad to know it was an easy fix after all that. Accidentally pressing a key
or using an incorrect keystroke combination can be quite vexing.

Oh yeah, that's bit me a few times when working on client computers.
Very irritating that.

On one PC the sleep button is right to the left of the Escape key.
And I use the keyboard by feel. What should've taken me 20 minutes
to do took me an extra 10 minutes because I had to be so careful on
the keyboard.

Next time I visit that client I think I'll take my keyboard with me.

Or just pop the key cap off before you start and replace it when
finished.
