MSaccess2000 crashes

hi.
i am facing the following problem since 2 months.
when ever i am trying to do any sort of editing in the MSACCESS-2000 version
like-editing a form or editing a table..i get a box showing the following
error shown below

Memory could not be "read" .
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

AND THEN MSACCESS crashesi.e closes ....
Please help me out in this problem.what can i do to prevent this?

Can you repair/compact the database?
When did you last repair/compact the database?
How large is the database, both Front-end and Back-end (or just the database,
depending on relevance)
What else has changed? Did they upgrade something like new Windows/PC's and
you're not telling us?
What is the SP level of the Access2000?

The error itself, doesn't mean anything other than Access shut down for an
unknown reason. Unknown even to Microsoft, it would seem...
