MSComm Properties and Events unavailable in Access 2003

When using Access 2003 with VBA 6.0, I'm unable to call events such as
MSComm.OnComm and unable to see properties such as MSComm.Settings of
MSComm.CommPort. I'm trying to get my database program talking over a
USB-to-serial link, but I'm surprised that I can't see half of the properties
characteristic to the ActiveX control. Don't get me wrong - I have VS 6.0
installed and have a registered MSComm control - I just don't have a control
that does what I need it to do.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
