Msi 1013 errors on 2003 install

OS: Win XP pro

When trying to upgrade from Office XP pro to Office 2003 pro, installation
halts abruptly. Event viewer shows:

Exception code: C0000006 IN_PAGE_ERROR
Module: C:\WINDOWS\System32\msi.dll
Function: 0x7642452f

So tried uninstalling Office XP, getting same error.

Tried system restore from 90 days ago then uninstalling OfficeXP uninstall
getting same error.

Now reinstalling Office XP gets same error.

Ouch anyone have a fix for this?

Fixed it by running a disk check and repair.

Saw HD errors in system event viewer
