I'm new to mass software deployment using active
directory group policy. The best/easiest way to deploy
software in my company seems to be MSI packages through
group policy. There is one probem that I've encountered
though. How can I deploy Office 2003 through group policy
without the user having to enter the product key? I have
experimented using a tool in the office resource kit that
creates an MST file which allows you to customize the
installation and enter the key code ahead of time. But i
am not exactly sure this MST file will work with group
policy software distribution. In group policy software
distribution I don't see an option or path to specify the
MST file. I know you can use setup from the command line
along with certain parameters to use the MST, but I don't
want to have to go to every workstation to accomplish this
rollout.
I am using volume license software (the blue disk). Not
the boxed version. I go to the MS E-Open website to
retrieve my license key from microsoft. This version
is not OEM or retail and should work.
Thanks
