MSI Deployment .. Product Key

Chad

I'm new to mass software deployment using active
directory. The best/easiest way to deploy software in my
company seems to be MSI packages through group policy. One
probem I'v encountered though. How can I deploy Office
2003 through group policy without the user having to enter
the product key? I have tried using a tool in the office
resource kit, but that only created an MST file which i am
unable to use in the software deployment setup. Any help
would be great.

Thanks,

Chad

are you starting out with enterprise media & volume license keys? if not, go
back to go, do not collect $200, in fact give more money to microsoft
because those oem/retail packages/keys arent gonna work.

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to let you know there is a site that may be of some use. A
lot of people who work with Novell products, and are VERY good with
implementations and troubleshooting, frequent the site. You can find it at:

I am using volume license software (the blue disk). Not
the boxed version. I go to the MS E-Open website to
retrieve my license key from microsoft. This version
should work.

How do I deploy this package with the MST file? In group
policy software distribution I don't see an option or path
to specify what MST file to use. I know you can use setup
from the command line along with certain parameters to use
the MST, but I don't want to have to go to every
workstation to accomplish this rollout.

Thanks

PIDKEY

In your MST file ad
PIDKE
o
in your command line add PIDKEY=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx after your TRANSFORMS="file"
