MSI Message

Whenver I open an OFFICE product (Outlook, WORD, EXCEL,etc.), I get a window
that pops open with "Norton Anti Virus 2006....." It states "Please wait
while Windows configures Norton Anti Virus 2006." Then I get a second window
which says "SETUP...."...."This MSI must be lauched through setup.

I hit the OK button 3 times in this 2nd window, and then things clear up.
What is causing this, and how do I fix it? I believe this started right
after I upgraded my Norton SystemWorks 2005 to 2006 version.

A MSI repair is initiated when a program is launched and the MSI check sees
that some component is missing from the installation.

As you'll probably know Norton Anti-Virus is integrated into Office products
during the installation of Norton Anti-Virus.

Somehow the Norton Anti-Virus installation is missing some components. If
you open the Event Viewer (eventvwr.exe) you can see under "Application Log"
what is the cause for the Windows Installer repair action.

Try to uninstall Norton Anti-Virus and then install it again. Or run setup
again. If the installation sees that the product is allready installed it
will give an option to repair.

Thanks, Mickman.

I removed Norton SystemWorks and completely reinstalled to fix the problem,
although I have another problem which may or may not be related. Now,
whenver I reboot my PC, I get a pop-up message that says "Norton Protection:
Attention.......Access Denied, drive C." I hit OK, and then the computer
finishes booting and seems to be ok. Actually, I think it continues
rebooting properly, even if I leave the Access Denied screen up without
hitting OK.

Any idea what this might be?
