msimtf.dll is not a valid Windows image

The message "The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\System32\msimtf.dll is not a
valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette"
appears when I open various applications.

If this is an error, how do I get rid of it?

OK. however, the fault appeared following the installation of Office. Have
now resolved by finding up to date versions of msimtf.dll and msctf.dll on
web at DLLDUMP.com where most if not all MS and other dlls are available
free.
