937908 PSVR2007 - Task Updates need improved visibility

Does anyone know anything about this particular line item? Is there an
addition to the reporting DB or something? The referenced KB article
doesn't mention this issue as fixed.

Jay --

Thanks so much for sharing this information. As you already know, people in
this newsgroup are so desperately craving SP1 to fix the many bugs we have
all seen in Project Server 2007. Unfortunately, the list of bugs documented
in the Hotfixes doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the bugs that
are in this tool and need to be fixed! :)

FYI, I am starting to hear more and more that the release of SP1 will most
likely not occur until January or February of 2008.

Believe me, I'm not laughing. This is a serious issue, and is becoming more
serious by the minute as more users implement Project Server 2007, only to
discover the many bugs. The best I can tell you is to go to the Knowledge
Base, and search for "hotfix" under either Project 2007 or Project Server
2007. That's how I do it, as the search should return all of the available
Hotfixes for either product.

You do have to make a call to Microsoft Support to obtain the Hotfixes, but
the call is free after you tell them you want the Hotfixes. Hope this
helps.

Hey the one that says 'Projects remain in a "Checkin' Pending'
State' - is this where you have to go in an delete the Cache folder on
the workstation? Does this one have a HotFix that fixes that?

Do all these KBs have an associated HotFix? I remember hearing
somewhere that sometimes the HotFixes themselves are far behind the KB
articles themselves. Please confirm.

Andy:

Typically, the hotfix is ready before the KB article. So if you see a KB
article that references a hotfix, it's available.

Let me reiterate my next to last ? if I may. KB937907 references
the error "Projects remain in a checkin pending state" Is this the
scenario where we've had to go in and delete the cache on the
workstation in the past to resolve or something else entirely?

Andy:

The KB claims to fix at least one issue that causes the behavior. Whether or
not it will solve some, most or all or your occurrences with all of your
users, can only be determined by applying the fix and reporting back the
results. I'm a lot less reluctant to apply hot fix therapy to the client
than the server, as reinstalling the client is not a big deal.

Hi there,

Do you have the link to the knowledge base and the list of hotfixes?

Thanks!
