MSP 2007 project rename work around

FYI,
From what I've seen changing a project name in MSP 2007 cannot be done
through the Professional open form.
It can only be done through PWA >Project center >edit project properties

change the project name and also one of the enterprise fields (can be

changed back later) > save

This is also the work around for changing the project owner.

you can change the project name in winproj from the open project dialogue.
Right click the project and a menu appears giving you the option to rename or
delete.

I know the option exists, but although it I get a message saying it was done,
nothing actually happens, even after a long period of time.

Is this happening for just one project or all ?

Do you see the rename transaction going through the Queue successfully ? If
not, what error is being presented ?
