Wanna see the differences live before buying...

Hi Rob,

We have been participating in the Beta Program and have had great exposure
to Project Server 2007. In a nutshell "its great!!"

The project team did do a great job. Appart from some little anoying things
like still needing to download an activeX component and no increase of
functionlaity in the Project Center, the new features are truly awsome. I am
sure you will be very pleased. I know that doesnt answer your question :)

I am not sure if Project Server 2007 is actuall offically available for Beta
download ( actually I think it isnt). But if everthing goes well, the new
release should be out at the end of November. Why dont you visit the
Microsoft site and search for Project Server 2007. I know that there is some
good material out there.
hope this helps

Thanks Marc, but I was looking for a site that might already have the beta
loaded. I know 2003 has sites out there you can play around with [some admin
functions are deactivated] but it gave a good sense of the product. Sounds
like the product should be a hit, but is it worth the upgrade from 2003 in
your opinion?

HI Robert,

It is hard to generally say yes or no. It very much depends on the type of
functionality you are after. If you are after timesheet, generally better
performance, a much more enhanced workspace capability ( thanks to WSS 3 ) or
workflow, then the answer has to be yes.

If you are only after uploaded your Project schedules into Project Server to
have an idea of where you are in your projects then you may want to wait.

Sooner or later you will need to updgrade. Also Project Professional has
some great new features like multi undo and task highlighting and visual
reports which you gotta love :)

let me know if you have any other questions in regards to 2007. I am happy
to discuss it :)

Along the same lines,

Anybody have any links to MSDN TV or whitepapers that put the Microsoft
Workflow Foundation into persective WRT Project 2007.

I've watched a couple of these so far, in a word....

Underwhelmed.

These product team leads are freaking geniusus, but they miss so much
of the big picture. Workflow puts the Events in sequential space, but
not in time. Build the LIVE transactional scheduling engine for gosh
sake, then we can reach our potential and close these MS Project
Forums.

Hi Marc,

I notice that you might be an expert in this tool. I am very new to this and
woulkd like to have simple (2 slides) that will explain the main benefits of
2007 to end-user community.

I will be giving a workshop on 2003 and wanted to introduce the main
feutures 07...one of the main one for me being the Visual reports since
reporting is one of the key requirements for my organisation.

Thank you,

Just a suggestion: http://www.projecthosts.com/.

I have used Project Hosts and Project Server 2003 for several clients over
the years. Great bunch of professionals! I have just signed up for Server
2007 for a new client. 2007 is impressive, but will take some time to learn.

I hope this helps.
