MsProject not using Global.mpt in current directory

I am using MsProject 2003 Std. I have a folder on a network drive with my
MsProject MPP file and the Global.mpt I want to use. When I double-click on
the MPP file to open it, it does not use the Global.mpt file in the same
folder. This used to work.

Try setting up a shortcut to the mpt file you want to use. Double clicking
the global.mpt will cause project to open using that global file, then open
the .mpp file.

When I open my Global.mpt first, it opens Organizer. In the left pane of
Organizer is my original Global.mpt file with all the views, macros, etc. in
the right pane of organizer is another global.mpt that appears to be the
default MsProject global with only the sample macros, views, etc. In the
pulldown of the left pane where you can choose the file, this is greyed-out
and locked on Global.mpt. The file pulldown at the bottom of the right pane
is active, but the pulldown only has Global.mpt

Hi Jim,

I have many Global.mpt files, one for each of a number of customers. I
create a shortcut (usually on the desktop, but not necessary there) and in
the shortcut properties I enter the folders path in the Start in box.
Project looks here first for a Global file when starting.

So one shortcut per client and I have separate Global files.

Long time no talk, how are things for you?
