msvcrt.dll errors

[Help!!! Pamela]

My Outlook crashes each time I open it by Windows stating that an illegal
operation has been performed and refers to this file "msvcrt.dll" I think it
has something to do with email. For some reason this file is no longer
associated with Outlook and it should be. Can someone help me?
