I write drilling programs: Critical Sour, Sour, and Sweet; vertical,
directional, and horizontal -30-45 pg doc's. Currently there are multiple
duplicate data entry points. I get data from PDF'd doc's, I also design in
casing, drill pipe, and hydraulics in Excel speadsheets . As I said I have to
enter data multiple times. This can cause errors. I would like to build a
template that can pull in the data from Excel doc's. What is the best way to
format the template -mail merge (no), Hyperlink (?), or??

Enter tabular data in Excel, then select each Excel range that should appear
as a table in Word, copy, switch to Word and paste SPECIAL, paste LINK into
Word. This will embed a link to the Excel range (and workbook) in the Word
document. When both the Excel workbook and Word document are open, changes
in the linked Excel range will appear immediately in the Word document.
