MSWord Problems

Doug

When I am using MS Word2000, I sometimes experience a
problem with line spacing. When typing a sentence and
getting to the end of the line, the return works as it
should and I type as I am now with no extra spaces between
the lines. However, when I hit the 'Enter' key,

I drop down an extra line like I am showing right now. And
I do not know how to fix this. It's a simple fix, but I'm
not the most experienced user and I have forgotten how to
repair this problem. This is also happening when I use
Outlook Express to compose an email.
Can anyone help me on this matter?
Thank you
Doug

I'm not sure why this would happen in OE as well as Word unless you're using
Word as your email editor, but in Word the chances are that you have some
Space Before/After applied to the paragraph spacing (Format | Paragraph).
This could have happened if you inadvertently pressed Ctrl+0, which adds 12
pts Space Before.

Hello and thank you for replying. I do not have any
numbers in the spacing Before/After, and I have as default
line spacing as 'single'. On the Line and Page Breaks tab,
I have the Widow/Orphan Control box checked under the
Pagination section, and the Preview window shows all text
lines as tight together. Am I missing something else? And
I do use word for my OE.
Thank you
Doug

On the Layout tab of Page Setup, make sure vertical alignment is set to Top
and not Justified.
