Mulitiple Computer Access Link

Hello. I will be using OneNote on multiple computers. When I clicked that
option while creating a new notebook on computer 1, it asked if I would like
to receive a link for access on computer 2. I said yes, and my yahoo email
account tried to come up on computer 1 (I do not have Outlook). However, all
that came up was a blank page on computer 1. So, I never got the link to use
on computer 2. I finished the set up of the notebook on computer 1. My
question is, is there anywhere in OneNote on computer 1 that I can look for
that link that I was supposed to get so I can use it for computer 2?

This "link" by mail thing never worked for me.

But that's no problem. One doesn't need that "link".
On computer 2 just use "Open" from the file menu and navigate to the
place where the notebook-files are stored on comupter 1.

Prior to doing so you can check on computer 1 for the storage location:
Tools | Options | Save

You don't need that message with the ominous link. What it contains is
only a normal Windows file path with disturbing prefixes.

If you want to access a notebook created on computer 1 from computer 2
you'll need a file path (over the network) to that notebook, as in the
case of any other file you want to access over the network.

The prerequisites (even in the case you could have sent a link)
are:

The folder which contains your notebook (standard "My Notebooks") on
computer 1 must be a "shared" folder.
On computer 2 you should generate a drive letter for access to that
shared folder.

Now you can open ON on computer 2 by File, Open, Notebook and navigating
to the folder (!) that has the name of your notebook.
(a notebook is a folder in the Windows file system, not a file).

I don't know if I have a "network" per se. I have a home computer and laptop
that I use with wifi when I am home. Those are the two computers. I created
the notebook on my laptop, but I want to be able to access it from my pc from
time to time. I guess I have to make the desktop "see" my laptop, but I'm not
sure how to do that. I have a Linksys router. I'll try to fiddle with the
software.

Try out the network features and create a WLAN connecting the two
computers.
You need a "little" network and you have to make the direcotry (folder)
on the laptop where the notebooks are stored *shared* in order to reach
the files.
