Multi Shift Work

Arthur A

I have a project that has four teams. One is Monday thru Thursday (day shift
10 hr per day): the second is Monday thru Thursday (night shift 10 hr per
night); the third is Friday thru Sunday (day shift 12 hr per day) and the
last is Friday thru Sunday (Night shift 12 hr per night). There are similar
reasources in each team.
Question 1: Should I set up four calendars, one for each team?
Question 2: The night shift goes from 6:00 pm to 4:00 am, is that the
proper way to enter it tin the calendar?
QUestion 3: When I assign resources to a task, should I assign from all
four teams to allw continuous work on the task?

Thanks

Arthur,
Question 1: Yes, you have to set up four calendars, one for each team.
Question 2 : In Project calendars, a period of time cannot cross over
midnight. So you have to create two periods :00:00 - 06:00 and 18:00 - 00:00
Question 3 : Yes, if i understand well what you want to do...

Thank you Gerard! I assume that these would be Resource Calendars with a
Project Calendar that is 24/7?

Arthur,

When you assign a Resource to a task, the task obey the Resource calendar.
That means that the Resource Calendar has precedence on the Project
calendar. So you don't need to create a Project calendar 24/7.
