Multicolored Summary Task Bars

Is there any approach to providing a multicolored Summary Task Bar
reflecting duration of subordinate tasks. For example:

Desired Summary Task Display AAABBBBCCCC

Current Summary Task Display DDDDDDDDDDD
Task 1 AAA
Task 2 BBBB
Task 3 CCCC

Legend A=red B=blue C=green D=black

Hi Jack,

You can color the subtasks as you'd like and then rollup the bars to the
summary task. Apply the colors as needed through Format > Bar. Then select
the task and click the Task Information button on the Standard toolbar. On
the General tab in the Task Information dialog, click "Roll up Gantt bar to
summary."

If you double-click on the Task Name, under the general tab, you can
select "Roll up Gantt bar to summary". Then you can double-click on the
tasks which are overlaid on the summary bar and set their colours.

You can also select multiple tasks and set the same option from the Task
Information dialogue.

Hi Jack,

If I read your question correctly and using your example, you want the
summary task bar to display and coloured as Red,Blue,Green, rather than the
one colour solid black or any other single colour.

If this is correct, then I am not aware that you can format the colour of
the summary task (or any task bar for that matter) to anyhting other than a
single colour. What you can do though is to change the colour of each
individual summary task by double clicking on the bar, or selecting the bar
select the menu "Format/Bar". This opens the format box for that bar only.

Hi,

Your first and foremost problem is the length of the summary task bar;
because A and B, and also B and C, overlap, it can never show a length of
AAABBBBCCCC (and today it will display DDDDDDDDD and not DDDDDDDDDDD)
As for the coloring you goot the reply.
