Hi,
I would like to create automatic numbering in the follow format:
5007-0001
5007-0002
5007-0002.1
Is this possible to configure?
Thanks

Note that for Word 2007, you access the numbering dialog box via Home tab |
Multilevel List | Define New Multilevel List. The same command is used even
if you are modifying an existing list, but in such a case be sure to place
the insertion point in the first level 1 paragraph of your list (for heading
numbering, this means the first Heading 1 paragraph of the document) before
excuting the command.

Thank you. The only remaining issue is that I would like to have the first
level number to appear as a 4 ditgit number after the 5007 i.e.
5007-0001
5007-0002
....
5007-0010
5007-0011

If I place 5007-000 in front of the number, the 0 zeros are hardcoded in the
number instead of being part of the counting field. I may be trying to do
something that the automatic numbering is not meant to do, but I thought it
was worth asking before I had to hard copy all the numbers.
Thanks for any help!

Unfortunately, there is no way to accomplish four leading zeros with Word's
auto numbering. The best you can do is choose the "01,02,03,..." format (two
leading zeros).

To create 0001, 0002, ...., 0010,... type of numbering you would have to
make use of SEQ fields.
