Multiple Calendars in a Project

In Microsoft Project 2007 I have created a new calendar (based on th
Standard calendar) and updated it with all the public holidays and se
that at as my default calendar for the project.

However, one resource on my plan works in a different country and on
of their tasks needs to start a task on a day that is defined as
public holiday. Because it's defined as a non-working day, project won'
allow the task to start on that day.

I have tried the following:

1) Tried to update the resource's calendar (based on the defaul
calendar) and tried to set a "Work Week" for that resource for that day
Project, however, crashes at that point (perhaps related to threa

2) I've created a new calendar based the Standard calendar and set th
Resource's base calendar to it. The task has been assigned the Resource
If the task starts before the holiday, it correctly shows the task a
being worked on on that day but I still can't set the task to start o
that day.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong (perhaps some way of assigning
calendar to a task maybe?
