Is it permissible to install the same copy of Beta 2 of Office 2007 on 2
machines (for instance my Desktop AND Laptop) or will it fail to activate?

Figured it "might" work but I will read through the EULA to see if Microsoft
allows it.. Comments from MVP's ?

The EULA says that you may install and use only one instance of the
software. I believe that they want you to download additional copies if you
want to run more than one.

Office activation is to confirm that the users won't install their product on
more than what the license allows. Activation process sends your hardware ID
to MS each time you activate your office product. And when you exceed your
limit of the installations, the activation process won't work anymore. That
means if your serial number is for example for 3 computers, MS will catch
your hardware IDs untill 3 different hardware ID, and then rejects the
activation.
