Multiple instances of calendar events in Entourage

I use Entourage 2008 and sync the calendars with iCal. In turn, I sync
iCal with MobileMe and with my Google calendar (the latter using
Spanning Sync).

It ran well for a few days but today I noticed something weird: all
the calendar events in Entourage are showing up three times over. Any
idea why this could be happening and how I could stop it? There is no
change in the other three synced calendars (iCal, MobileMe, Google
calendar) - they show only one instance each. Only Entourage shows the
event repeated three times!

[I remember reading somewhere that syncing calendars can produce
multiple instances of events if the time zones in the two calendars
are different. FWIW, I have checked that and all these calendars have
the same time zone (Indian Standard Time).]

Make sure that Office is perfectly up to date on your computer. I read
that there was improvements in this regard in 12.1.2.
These duplications usually occur on all day events. A quick way to
identify the duplicates and clean up the mess: always assign a category
to your events.
Categories will not sync so all events without one are duplicates. You
can create a saved custom search for all your events (e.g.: Folder is
Calendar (on my computer)) and sort by category. It really makes it a
lot easier to clean the whole mess up.

Well since it appears to be a bug (either in Entourage itself or in the
SycServices provided by the System), there isn't much to can do to avoid
them :-(
