Multiple lines in tables for notes

T

Thomas

Does anyone know how to view notes (multiple lines) in a table?
When using multiple lines I can only see "..." when using more than
one line.
What to do / How to display all lines within the table???

Hello Thomas,

The notes field added to a table will only display the first 255
characters or up to the first line return (when you pressed enter.) The
only work around is to not press enter. You can use a SHIFT+Enter to
create a new line character but you will see an odd square box in the
field and the text will still not appear on multiple lines. You can
wrap the text in the Notes field to have it appear to be multiple lines
by increasing the height of the row.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thomas,
You are referring to the view table. When the Notes field is displayed
as a column in a view, notes text will be displayed up to the first 255
characters or the first line feed, whichever occurs first. There are
multiple ways to display the complete notes text. One is to view it via
Project/Task Information/Notes tab. Another is to check the "print
notes" option under File/Page Setup/View tab. Another is to export the
notes field to another application (e.g. Excel).

I have a macro for doing the latter. If you are interested, contact me
at the address below. I will ask some questions.
