Why is it that I can't move Access objects from one
monitor to another?

The properties dialog box automatically jumps to my other
monitor but the other objects are confined to the
Access "holder."

I prefer not to spread Access across two monitors but I
would at times like to have a little more real estate
available by moving objects to the monitor where I view my
emails and other documents.

Any help in "detaching" objects from the Access holder
will be greatly appreciated.

Env: Access 2000 with Windows 2000.

If sounds like you can move the "Properties" window to the second monitor
because it is a "Pop-up" window which is not confined to the Access
application window. Non-pop-up windows will be confined to the "parent"
Access application window like the old "MDI".

If you open Forms in "pop-up" mode, you should be able to move it outside of
Access application window and to the second monitor.

While the Access app resides on one monitor or another,
you can move the properties window, pick list and floating
tool bars to the other monitor. This is the only way I can
work on my app's. Spoiled I guess....

I'm able to expand the Access "window" so that it covers the two
monitors. You can't do this if you maximize the window on the first
monitor, but if you make it less than "full screen" then you can
stretch it across both monitors.
