Multiple MS Access windows

Suddenly, my Access 97 application has starting opening empty MS Accesss
windows that my users are unable to close. Their only alternative is to
"end task". Any ideas on what code might cause this? My database has been
in heavy production use for more than 3 years without this problem. Some
users even have 2 or 3 MS Access windows opening automatically. The
production database continues to run fine, however. Any thoughts would be
greatly appreciated.

Either an object in your code is not being closed or you're
referencing a forms check box in such a method as to cause this
problem.
