I am using a Windows 98 as a server with 9000 docsuments on a D drive. Most
of these docs were created in Office 97 professional. There are read only
rights and full access rights assignd by password. When I attemp to change a
doc from a XP workstation with Word 2003 I get a message I don't have
permission, or "using invalid characters / or \". The XP workstaion is mapped
to the 98 server with full access rights to modify. When I use a 98
workstation with Office 98 as originally setup I have no problem. I would
like to upgrade my other machines to XP pro but need to get past this first
problem. HELP
