Hi,

Platform: Proj Pro 2007 & Project Server 2007 and MOSS 2007

Question 1: Is it possible attached multiple Project Plans to one Project
Workspace on Proj Server 2007

Question 2: Can I link a Project plan to MOSS Workspce. Lets say if a MOSS
Workspace exists when I am saving and Publishing a Plan I would like it to
point to MOSS Site instead of the default Proj Server 2007 (by specifying the
address of course). The answer is probably yest but need to verify.

Thanks in advance for everyones help.

Shahid:

The answer to question 1 is no. The answer to question 2, is "only if it was
created using the base template for Project Server Workspaces, or from a new
template based on that template. This would require that you set Project
Workspace provisioning to manual, and then instruct your PM not to create a
space. Then the Admin would be able to link to the site manually. Remember
that this must be created from the Project Workspace template, or issues,
risks and deliverables will not work.

1) No, it isn't possible to link multiple project files to a single workspace.
You can use subproject workspaces, but that won't aggregate data to the
master project workspace without some minor SharePoint development.

2) Sort of. The only difference between a MOSS workspace and a Project workspace
are the activation of the Project features. If you have an existing MOSS
workspace in the same farm, activate the Project Server features. When you
first publish the project, opt to not create a site, but as an Admin, go
into server settings and point the project to that workspace. That should
work just fine.

Thank you. Further questions

1. Can I attached a single Project Plan to Workspace created independantly
on PWA
(i..e Workspace created and Porject plan published after Workspace was
created)

2. What if the MOSS is on a Different Farm, can I still associate a Project
Plan to
the a Workspace/Site on MOSS Farm.

Shahid:

You can create the Project Workspace site in advance of the project as long
as you do so using the the Project Workspace template or a custom template
based on the Project Workspace template. I'm not certain that you can host
the Project Workspace on a separate farm, although I doubt that it's easily
supported in 2007. 2010 has better support for cross-farm sharing
capabilities.
