Multiple Project Manager approvals for same task

Hi

We have a situation in which multiple managers have to
approve a timesheet before the actuals are incorporated
into the plan. This means the each task should have 2 or
more Project Managers. I know it's possible to have 2 or
more PMs for the same project plan but is the same
possible at the task level.

I know this is a feature that will be release in Project
Server 2003 but we are currently using Project Server
2002.

The best you can do is a two-step process by using the delegate feature and
the team lead role. More workflow than that is not possible in 2002.

I would recommend a thrid-party application such as Time
Sheet Professional which allows up to 9 levels of time
approval and plugs in to Project Web Access in both
directions, i.e. TSP only shows approved task assignmnets
from Project Server and TSP pushes time updates back into
the project plan via Web Access and still requires PM
approval to apply to the plan. Much more robust than
Project as a Time Tracking application.
