Multiple transitions for single slide

I'm wanting to have multiple transitions for a single slide, so that the bullet points appear one after another rather than all at once. I saw a response to a similar question suggesting using the layout option, but couldn't get that to work.

Hi John -

"Transitions" pertain to how the slide itself comes into view as the
previous slide exits. What you're looking for is *Custom Animation*

Select that from the Slide Show menu (or click the star-shaped button of the
Toolbox) to display the Custom Animation Palette. You'll find effects for
Entrance, Emphasis & Exit behaviors to select from... And don't overlook the
additional sections of the Palette [More..., Timing, Text Animations] which
contain additional features & settings.
