Multiple watermarks in a single Word document

How can I insert different watermarks in a Word document? I know how to insert the same watermark on all pages but I would like to have different watermarks on different pages.

Don't put them in the header. Apply it behind text on the main page. A
watermark is only a pale graphic.

Graham's answer will do if you want a different watermark on every page. If
you want the same watermark on more than one page but not all, insert
section breaks where you want the watermark to change, then unlink the
headers in the sections and anchor the appropriate watermark to the header
of each section.
