Music notes instead of words in reply

When I try to reply to some emails, it shows music notes instead of words. I
can't seem to find any information on this. The emails go through, though,
and look fine on the other end. Any ideas?

I suppose that's possible, but not probable. I can read the email fine, it's
just when I hit reply that it turns into the musical notes.

What font does it display you're typing in when it turns into musical notes?
Is there stationary involved? What Outlook format are you using?

What turns into notes is the stuff that's already written there. Basically,
I hit the reply or forward button and all of the things that were typed
before convert to musical notes (before I've typed anything). No stationary
is involved. It's actually on another person's computer, but she is using
all the default formats.

When you highlight the musical notes, what font does Outlook tell you they're
in?

What happens if you turn Word off as your email editor? I'm trying to
determine if Word is involved in this or not.
