Muti Styles or Bullets on same paragraph...

I am wondering if there is any way of creating something like the 2.1 or 2.2
underlines without having to resort to VBA. I can't use a two column method
because not all the lines are to the left of other styles. I also can't
create the numbering manually because of large documents that need the
numbering automated in case of changes.

Thanks in advance!

If the lines are needed in front of every number at that outline level, you
can add the underlines and a space as static text in front of the number
field in the "Number format" box in Format | Bullets and Numbering (in the
same way that you would use "Chapter 1" or the like).

Suzanne,

I tried that but it does not show up. I tried CTRL-U and spaces. I tried
copying and pasting in existing text before the outline numbering in the
"Customize" window. Nothing seems to work. How are you anticipating being
able to put that text in? I'm probably just missing the boat, but that
isn't anything new!

TIA!

I just typed underline characters (shifted hyphen) into the box, followed by
a space. It worked fine here.

What a goober I am. Didn't even think of that method. Oh wait, there goes
that boat! HA!

Thanks!
