I'm not sure what you mean by "resetting Word", but what needs to be reset is
the Formatting Toolbar... if you are referring to the 'buttons' as 'controls'.
Right-Click any toolbar, select Customize, then go to the Toolbars tab.
Click the *name* of the Formatting Toolbar to select it, then click the Reset
button.
If that doesn't correct the problem, post back including Word/Windows
version info.
