My Browser wont show text after it's posted

B

BeantheBoo

Hi,

The text on my home page is read through the FP2000 program, as well as on
the internet browsers of other machines, yet when I call my web-page up with
Explorer 6 on my own computer, it doesn't show....only the images on the
page come through.

Anyone know anything about this?

The site is www.jamesgain.com

Thanks in Advance
Bean

This is because:

1. Your buttons are Hover Button components.
2. Hover Button components require a Java Virtual
Machine to display correctly.
3. Windows no longer ships with a Virtual Machine.

To fix this, you can go to Sun Microsystem's Web site and download a Java
Virtual Machine. But each one of you Web visitors would have to do the same
thing, and I bet they don't.

So, you probably should change to a Link Bar, or buttons you configure with
the DHTML Effects toolbar to have a rollover, or some fancy CSS, or the new
Interactive Button feature in FP2003.

Thanks Jim,
That's interesting.
But I still can't figure out why other people can see my pages fully on
their systems yet I can't on my own.
Thanks again

'fraid I don't,
Is this to say that anyone who may want to view my files will have to
install JVM?
I had no problem reading and writing files and seeing them on my browser
until about 2 weeks ago.
Is JVM the only answer?
Thanks

Everyone will have to have a JVM installed to see the Java Hover buttons.
Or any Java programs for that matter. Otherwise, you'll need alternative
methods, such as JavaScript rollovers.

They have a Java Virtual Machine installed on their PC, and you don't.

Thanks again,
But in re-reading the earlier messages, it's not only the buttons that do
not appear on my browser (for which I'll be sure to download JVM), but
simple hyperlinks and unlinked descriptions inderneath the graphics....so,
it's 'all' the text that will not show...
Can I make a plea to anyone who may still provide an answer?
Thanks allot in advance

Yes, but the problem is, how do you know all your Web visitors will
bother to get a JVM?
