The most reliable way of doing this is to use an API call,
GetComputerNameA, as shown on the Access Web at

Thank you! I tried both and they work great.

At one time, late at night, when I did not need it, there
was something very simple that I did, and it returned the
computer name. I can not do it again, but I assure you
there is a simple way to get it in Access 2000. In the
meantime, your solution is perfect.
