My Contacts (other than Network Users) Do not Appear in "Select Na

When I compose a new email message and click the "to" button, the only
contacts that appear are the few users we have on a small network.

My contacts folder that is accessible in Outlook Contacts is not listed.

If I begin typing the name in the "to" field of a new message, they are
sometimes found, sometimes not.

I use Outlook 2003 on an Exchange server.

My mail and contacts are all in "Mailbox" - (Network User). There are
several thousand contacts in that folder.

I have been living and putting up with this for AGES. Just decided to
attack this and many other Outlook issues today.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Steve

You need to enable your Contacts folder as an Outlook Address Book.
Right-click>Properties>Outlook Address Book tab>check "Show this folder..."

That's not related to your Contacts at all. That's the autocompletion
cache.

I'm having the same problem in Outlook 2003 in an Exchange environment.
When I right-click on the folder and select Properties and the Outlook
Address Book tab, the "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book" is
gray and not clickable. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Yes. Add the Outlook Address Book service to your profile (Tools>E-mail
Accounts>Add a new directory or address book>Next>Additional Address Books.
Select the Outlook Address Book and follow the prompts. That will enable
the "Show this folder" checkbox.
