my cut/paste to ppt is oversize. How do I reduce the size?

I created a table in excel. To show grid lines I paste it to ppt. The font
remains small but transfer is about 150% or more the size o0f page. Office
97 didn't have this problem and I have fixed it before but have forgotten
how.
