My data validation cells don't activate when I click on them

Is the "In-cell drop down" box checked when you setup the Data Validation?

And if the answer to Otto's question is "yes", then another place to look is
in:
<Tools> <Options> <View> tab,
And make sure that under "Objects",
'Hide All' is *NOT* checked.

Further, you didn't mention your version, but there is a bug in XL97, where
if you use "Freeze Panes" at or under the validation cell, the drop-down
will *not* display.

if tht is the case, u can use ALT+DOWN ARROW to drop down the list and
use arrow key to select..

I'm on an XL97 machine today, and this doesn't work for me.

Maybe I'm not following you.

Would you elaborate ... step by step ... for me?

Im sorry, I havent checked tat on XL97..

But otherwise when u r in such cell, the ALT+DOWN ARROW will drop the
list down, like when u click the drop down button..

be in such a cell
ALT + DOWN ARROW
use UP/DOWN Arrow to select
press enter..
