My Debacle with Tracking Changes...

Hi folks,

Ran into a bit of a snag today... I *just* started using Word 2007,
while my colleagues all still use Word 2003 or something of that
generation.

In this document I am trying to display the recent changes in red, but
all of the older changes (usually stricken-out red text) should
disappear.

A screenshot is here: http://www.pureifr.com/OSD.JPG

Here is my conundrum:
Since there is no way to "uncheck" all three options in the drop-down
balloon menu, the only options I can find for adjusting what appears
on the screen are listed under the "show markup" drop-down box.
However, if I uncheck "Insertions and Deletions" ALL the red text
disappears, including the most recent changes, which I want to keep.

Nutshell: I need to keep the new red text, biff the red text with the
strikethrough, and still keep the black vertical bars in the margin to
illustrate where the most recent changes are.

Is there something I'm missing here? This document was passed to me,
not created by me, so is there something the original author needed to
do?

Can you tell I am a stranger to Tracking Changes? :)

Thanks for your input,
Craig

You will need to go to each change and decide whether to accept it or reject
it. When you send a document onto someone with only Word 2003 or lower for
them to make changes in it, the Moves that you make (by default were green)
will be converted to either insertions or deletions depending on what was
done in the document.

So, click on those changes that you want to "biff" and click either accept
or reject to either delete or insert depending on you desired outcome.

Play around and use the undo command to "fix" any changes that you might not
like.

Ahhhh, thank you Dawn - that's worth a shot!
