my dictionary won't let me add to it

Suddenly, my spell checker is keeping the "add to dictionary" function
unhighlighted even when it spots a word that it doesn't recognize. In
other words, it won't let me add to the dictionary (the only options
that remain clickable are Ignore, Ignore All, and the various change
functions. Note: I am not talking about any custom dictionary but
the regular, built-in dictionary. Does anybody have an idea of what
to do? I use a lot of proper names and technical terms and really
would like to be able to update my dictionary.

Hi Dana:

Go to Tools>Language and see what language is highlighted there.

It must exactly match one of your installed languages. For example "English
AUS" will not match "English US".

If it doesn't match, the spell checker will be disabled. Look up "Language"
in the Help to see how to correct it :)

Cheers
