My email disappears and then reappears

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC
Email Client: imap

For me, this is a tad bit scary. There are times that my email message would disappear and then reappear. Sometime it does this when I delete other emails and all of a sudden the emails I do not want to delete vanishes. And later they would reappear. Does anyone have this problem?

I have:
Power PC Apple
OS X 10.5.7
Office Version -- 12.1.9

yes I have had the same.
In my case emails written in Entourage for .mac do not show up in .mac account and the SENT folder in Entourage disappeared.

Good to hear I am not the only one. This is a big problem since it scares the heck out of me. The even more scary part is that no one else has answered me with a solution.....
